HABAK is one of those bands, and their new album Mil orquídeas en medio del desierto is an Emotive Crust masterpiece that goes far beyond anything that I have ever heard before! Real talk, to say that this collection of stirring anthems will reshape the underground is an understatement! This band’s music hits me in my heart chakra and also alerts my inner revolutionary spirit. HABAK can balance the brutality of our existence with the beauty of pure, untouched nature. Songs like “Interludio – En la tempestad” make me remember that we face the same conditions as humans, and it’s our unity that will make us win against our downpressors. On the vocal tip, their vocalist is beyond powerful, and I can hear the ancestors in every scream. Musically, these humans manifest sounds that will uplift you and put a battery in your back to fight for what you know is JUST!
Honestly, HABAK speaks with both the vocals and music. This means that the rhythms you will encounter on Mil Orquídeas En Medio Del Desierto will talk to parts of your reality that you did not know existed. “Notas sobre el olvido” and “Hacia el abismo” are two songs that make me so happy to be alive. I want HABAK to know that they have created one of my favorite records of 2025. If I heard this record as a 14-year-old Peace Punk during the 80s, it would have been life-changing, and it still is! I look forward to seeing them live one day because their live shows look unreal! The revolution will be televised, and Mil Orquídeas En Medio Del Desierto will be the theme music!
