Get Trashed and Fall in love with the Art Punk Sounds of SIXTEEN JACKIES “Creature Feature”

Dakota Allen

How many times have you fallen in love? Sixteen Jackies has me remembering the few too many times I’ve fallen in lust and love with someone I just met. Wild nights of roaming through small towns or big cities doing dumb shit and becoming more and more infatuated as each second passed. Those nights could’ve easily been soundtracked with the noisey punk art rock Sixteen Jackies makes. They make sounds that are as lighthearted as an acid trip and disturbing as a slasher film, and watching this video for “Creature Feature” is bringing me back to the goofy night that started the 16-year rollercoaster ride I’ve been on with Sean! It’s off their new album Hostile Architecture that’s out now via Born Losers Records—get it here. Today we’re excited to share their wild and wonderful video for the track “Creature Feature”!

“Creature Feature” is one of our more lighthearted songs, though there’s still a good bit of angst bubbling underneath. It’s about two dudes falling in love, getting messed up, and going to the movies. I originally wrote this song when I was seventeen as a joke but it’s gone through many evolutions since then. This version feels like a scarily over the top declaration of devotion inside of a haunted house.
