Get in Touch With the Angular Post Punk of STUCCO “Business Inc.”

How many times have I reminded myself that my reality is physical, I exist in the here and now, and my world is confined to what I can touch and taste and smell? About a million times in the past two weeks alone. It feels like every time I open myself up to the intangible internet universe there’s something triggering me into distress, anger, depression, incredulity. The majority of us are more concerned with projecting our fears and insecurities onto others so that we can judge them and socially execute them, hoping that our inner demons will die with them. As I dive into STUCCO‘s new video for “Business Inc.” I feel like their angular post-punk is poking holes in our cultural dam and the hypocrisy floodwaters are about to burst through. This song is all harmonious dissonance, like the resonance of a beautiful air siren warning us that something’s about to blow. The track is off their ep1 EP came out on Oct 28th via Midwest Debris and you can get it here. Hit play on STUCCO’s new video for “Business Inc.” and remind yourself of where you are right now as you listen to this cutting post punk anthem.

This song circles around the theme of lecturing people for their behaviors. It is as much a declaration of repulsion to those who have betrayed us as it is an inner monologue that addresses how much we despise the things we ourselves have done. We see that these actions are aimed with both malice and ambivalent intentions toward the losing parties. They are done in the public eye in order to achieve selfish gain, yet no one is speaking up against the transgressors. Ultimately, we realize the deception and cut ties with our past and move forward.

EP1 is an exploration into the angularity of music and a cross examination of our place in the environment. We call ourselves into question time and again as we confront insecurities and injustice. How much of this life is real, how much of it is invention?

– STUCCO

You better have doubt
You’re taking up space
You were in the circle
But now you’re out

You’re talkin’ too much (when your)
On the rise (and your)
In the middle but
Out of touch

Synaptic error
Is it a terror?
Or is it just
The way I think?

History (his story) binds
And cuts the lines
It’s on camera
For business inc.

This story’s physical reaction
Disconnecting from attraction

Suspicious discrete interaction

Underneath, who’s that there?
Acquisition in the stairs

My mind’s in a speed trap all the time
I’m high speed, full gear, on the edge and disappear

Suspicious discrete interaction

Underneath, who’s that there?
Acquisition in the stairs
