As a species, we’ve been telling stories of monsters and mayhem since language was developed. But the real monsters are all too human – people whose desire for control, revenge or need for love can only be satiated through violence and murder. These people have almost become mythical figures in history, the exception to the rule. Sometimes it’s good to remind yourself that they are indeed human, no matter how foreign and repulsive their actions are. While there are many idiots out there who claim respect for people who commit heinous crimes against others, it’s natural to be fascinated with behaviour that violates the most basic of taboos. It’s human to ask why, and it’s human to need to explain. Here’s a little mind sickness for your day – a compilation of interviews with Charles Manson (serial killer mentor), Jeffrey Dahmer, Richard Kuklinski, Aileen Wuornos and Richard Ramirez.
