Fight the Power While You Rock Out to IAN BLURTON’S FUTURE NOW “The Power Of No”

As I grow increasingly tired of the false democracy being advertised to us by colonialist capitalist entities, I’m dreaming of a world where I have actual autonomy over my life and my body. Where I have the power to say No to what I don’t want to participate in and where I can say Yes to what I do—and my decisions are for me, and me only. And where everyone else minds their own fucking business.

It’s heavy on my mind as I’m listening to the heavy stoner rock of IAN BLURTON’S FUTURE NOW‘s new video for their single “The Power Of No.” They’ve got a gothic groove and alternative swing and riffs that don’t quit! This song reminds me of when I was young and it makes me glad I’ve gained the life experience to justify my natural tendency to rebel against anyone in authority who want to dictate my human rights to benefit their ideology or profits. Don’t get it twisted, “The Power Of No” is giving me energy to fight to live in peace and love and music and art and nature and nurture.

“The Power Of No” is pretty self-explanatory…  It’s about using one of our greatest powers to dismiss the bad notions, energy vampires and unwanted suggestions that come at us every day. It’s about realizing the power the word ‘no’ holds and using it to reject things that don’t feel right to you.

Stay tuned for the rest of their new record Second Skin that’ll be going live via Seeing Red Records and Pajama Party on July 15th —pre-order it here and pre-order it here. Their Toronto record release show is Saturday, Aug 13th, at The Horseshoe. Right now, hit play on our premiere of the IAN BLURTON’S FUTURE NOW video for “The Power Of No”!
