As the sun shines outside, there is a heavy darkness coming over my existence. I know this feeling of dread is coming from all of the humans living in misery as I write this. As I blast the morbid Death Metal of FASTIDIUM, I’m finding some solace. Their newest tape, Vile Vortices, is out now on the forever-on-point Crucial Blast. Throughout 8 disturbing tracks, this band laces the world with their insanely filthy brand of Death Metal. As a fan of fucked in the head music, death hymns like “Factory Reset Smile” serve as the dark light I need as my sunshine! This band trips me out because as I immerse myself in their music it almost feels like I’m on an audio Mushroom trip with Sun Ra.
FASTIDIUM has something to say with their twisted kind of music, and I’m fucking here for it! At times I swear they sound like a Hardcore Punk band on cyco meth. I love the sounds that I encounter in between their riffs — it’s there that I can feel the torment they want us to feel. This band creates some of the sickest, most anguish-ridden death hymns I’ve heard in a while! I want to say thank you to FASTIDIUM for existing, and to Crucial Blast, keep doing what you are doing!!!
