Experience the stunning new single from CHELSEA WOLFE “THE MOTHER ROAD”

Nona Limmen

I probably don’t have to tell you this, but Chelsea Wolfe announced her new album today. I have chills just seeing the gorgeous Nona Limmen cover for Birth of Violence. And then I hit play on her single “The Mother Road,” and I’m floating away on the beautiful tones of her voice and every hair on my body is standing on end. Once again, she is transforming her sound, but creating the same epic audioscapes she’s known for. I can’t wait to hear the LP in full when it comes out September 23rd via Sargent House – the pre-order is live right here – but for now I’m just going to have this breathtaking song on repeat. Heat if for yourself right now:

THE MOTHER ROAD lyrics:
took the mother road
down to GODDESS flesh
i swallowed the key
i want to learn to swallow my pain
hallowed the fruit, hallowed thy name
guess i needed something to break me
guess i needed something to shake me up
guess i needed someone to break me
guess i needed someone to shake me out
afraid to live, afraid to die
building a broken but precious web
like a spider in Chernobyl
and when the cattle low, something is on the horizon
i do not have a child
but i’m old enough to know some pain
and i’m hell bent on loving you
women know what it is to endure
guess i needed something to break me
guess i needed something to shake me up
guess i needed someone to break me
guess i needed someone to shake me out
it was you
it was you
bloom and eclipse them, wake up and transform
