Exclusive Full Album Premiere: SUTEKH HEXEN’s Soul-Tearing Self-Titled New Double LP
Oakland CA’s Sutekh Hexen celebrate ten years on this planet with a first, proper, official debut full-length album, incarnated as a brand new haunting double LP coming out tomorrow March 29 on the most ungodly alliance of labels: through Sentient Ruin for North America, and on german post-industrial powerhouse Cyclic Law for Europe. Today we’re honored to stream this dark colossus of abstract aural terror in full below.
In these ten years into existence the Oakland black power ambient sorcerers have carved a niche entirely their own where existence is torn apart and the soul disintegrated and reconstructed anew over and over again in a looped perverse spell of impenetrable and horrific mysticism yielding abominations unend. Theirs is a wretched world were liturgic solemnity, ritualistic violence, and instinctual animal-like sonic ferality all live in perfect symbiosis, constantly shapeshifting and re-fusing each other into an ever-changing alloy of deviant and unholy sonic deconstructionism.
For fifty nightmarish minutes of spellbinding aural cruelty, in this self-tiled LP Sutekh Hexen cross thresholds unseen and delve more than ever into mystical cesspool of depraved and vertigo-inducing aural disembodiment to annihilate the flesh, unifying noise, drone, black metal, dark ambient, industrial and ritualistic incantations into an hallucinogenic and claustrophobic cyclone of decaying aural mayhem. The opus is colossal in every sense and features a vast array of guests ranging from members of power electronics terrorists Terror Cell Unit all the way to Venien from iconic San Francisco Black Metal legends Von.
Fans of Sunn ))), Wold, Gnaw Their Tongues, Darkspace, Abruptum, and Lustmord need to feast at the altar of this monster blindfolded no questions asked, as this might just be the pinnacle of 2019’s black ambient metal. North American 2xLPs and 2x Cassettes are available from Sentient Ruin, while EU vinyl and CD is available from Cyclic Law.
