Born In Blood: A KING DUDE Retrospective + Tour News

So what happens when a person has the courage to follow his passion and leave his band for something new? This is what happened to our long time comrade TJ Cowgill, who left his group Book of Black Earth to go solo, and KING DUDE was born. From the start, you could tell that this dude was on a mission to use his guitar as a weapon of mass demon love! It’s not like he stopped saying subversive or wicked shit, it’s just now he did it in a deep, silky voice that gave his words a new power! In true punk/metal spirit, KING DUDE releases all of his records since Love on his own imprint Not Just Religious Music, while also putting out sick records from other bands that are pushing sound in new directions. Personally, when we blast his record FEAR it fills our home with good, morbid vibes that have our children bouncing off the walls in voodoo happiness. His next sonic offering is Songs of Flesh & Blood – In The Key of Light and it’s packed full of jams that will paint your happy daze black. It’s rad to hear an artist grow with each offering – this is definitely the case with KING DUDE. His European Chained to Lucifer Tour starts June 1st, so check the dates below…for those that can’t go or want to get ready to witness the King, peep these killer videos of KING DUDE doing what he does best – crooning for the darkness in us all!

Met him at the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, Michigan. He was touring with Chelsea Wolfe at the time. He was amazing and very humble. I hope he comes back State side. Truly, an awesome Artist.
