I love me some sick-ass Death Doom because it gives me the mental space I need to get past the bullshit! I love it when a band can take a genre and embrace other genres, making their sound something that goes deep down into your reality! Case in point, ANCIENT TOME’s new record The Implications of Ascendancy out now via CHAOS Records is the fucking BOMB! The amount of heavy empathy you will encounter on this album is tremendous and very moving! Their big tune “The Way of the World is to Bloom” gives me the vision that I need to see my mother smile in the afterlife. ANCIENT TOME’s songs open up the portal that allows us all to unify around the human conditions we all deal with daily. I won’t front and say that this record is not mammoth, but what I love about it is the sonic healing energy that comes through on all of the songs! I would love to swallow a shroom capsule and allow their composition “Lamentation” to give my thoughts and inner energy the space I need to strive while leaving my negative self-talk in the dirt! ANCIENT TOME’s The Implications of Ascendancy should be heard for sure but more than that please open your 3rd eye so you can see past societal BS while riding on their majestic RIFFS!
