Today on National Native Heritage Day, we’re honored to share the new video for HOMELAND X MELDAMOR’s collab track, “Honor in Death.” This perfect meeting of Meldamor’s electric gothic rock passion with Homeland’s frenzied black metal fury sent shivers down my spine as soon as I heard it! The deep, chugging bassline and ethereal vocal melody as it starts, the howl that calls in the pummelling drums and vicious riffs and powerful vocals…it’s just a beautiful raging sonic beast. “Honor in Death” is a tribute to Homeland member Shadow Kivah Enos, who passed away on October 15th, 2024 (Rest in Peace). The video was filmed on Salt River Pima-Maricopa reservation lands and directed by Jorge Santacruz, and features Shadow’s friends and family honoring his legacy with a desert mosh pit salute to his life’s work as a musician in the AZ underground. All proceeds from track streams and sales will be donated to Shadow’s family — get the track here. Now check out this awesome video for HOMELAND X MELDAMOR’s “Honor in Death”!
Shadow was musically inclined within his lifetime, devoted to becoming an exceptional vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and lyricist. Shadow was committed to executing each of these talents through many genres of music. He was a band member of Murder Rate, Homeland, Too Sick, Sharing Needles, Sweet Agony, and An Angels Final Prayer. Shadow’s passion for music prompted many to make an imprint in the music industry.
