Living in the Bay Area in the early 80’s, there were so many bands that were just straight up different. They were old punks who were not happy with punk’s metamorphosis into a strict genre, so they started to mix up all sorts of influences, and so bands like Black Athletes and Faith No More came to be. I saw both of these bands perform a bunch of times at the Club Foot. While watching Faith No More, I knew I was witnessing something special – the band had a certain confidence about what they were creating! Chuck, their frontman, was on some extra weird shit that made me want to see them again and again…and thanks to the internet I can relive those times! Check out this rare full set of Faith No More killing shit in 1987!
